Hey, I brought some pink guava seeds from Bahamas and germinated tons of them. I put them in miracle grow moisture control soil and they are doing great. What I've noticed with mine is they require a lot of water. So depending on your location and temp you will have to see what type of soil your plants might need. Something that retains water well would be good from my experience.

I have a love/hate thing with guava.

At my house, in the ground guava are not fussy about soil or water. They are magnets for scale insects and due to that I've only had good luck with Strawberry and lemon guava which it seems scale do not like.

Right now I have four recovering from severe scale attack last year and die back. A Thai white, Barbie pink, and a Ruby supreme.

I've pulled some sold as "Mexican cream" which were NOT MC's. They too succumbed to scale. The last recovering one may actually be a Mexican Cream but it too is recovering from scale and is now blooming.

I discovered horticultural oil will kill scales, but if used too much or too highly concentrated the tree leaves will burn and die. So I use it sparingly.

Now if my bagging the fruit will keep the fruit flies off and the horticultural oil keeps the scale at bay I'll be happy. If not, I'm tired of chasing these issues with Guava and if the fruit does not flow this summer the only one left in ground next year will be the lemon guava.
