I grow poppies in my yard along the sidewalk. The first poppy to bloom suddenly disappeared, and I assumed some jerk had come along and stolen it. This morning I saw that the 7 pods from spent flowers - pods I was waiting to extract seeds from - were suddenly gone. A clean cut of each stalk. Is there some explanation for this besides the one I am thinking (that same jerk took the pods)? They were not even near ready, so they are not any good to anyone.
