Hello fellow Houzz friends:

We purchased this house with these horrendous a/c ducts on the roof (easily seen from the backyard) knowingly it was the FIRST thing to remove as soon as we start the remodeling...

Well... 2 years later, dozens of A/C tech guys, architects and GC's consultations....the results are we cannot remove them.... I cried and cried and cried...

Old houses were not designed for A/C 's ducts so they had to accommodate them the best possible way to cover the whole living area, and long story short.. this "ALIEN" which makes me suffer must stay !

I need all the help possible for ideas on HOW SHOULD WE COVER THEM?

Maybe a low metal rectangular frame? Maybe a brick mini wall painted in white? Maybe planters? Please remember Miami is a Hurricane zone.

I really cannot visualize how to cover them architecturally nice.

Also, please take into consideration we are starting a big project soon of changing all doors and windows you see in pictures to impact windows and doors in white.

Also the house will be all painted in white.
