I'm in Australia, got the plants in Bunnings which has stores across the country. They often have Hoyas but this latest lot was more extensive than usual. There would have been more than a dozen other species I didn't have but they were full price. So maybe another time (when the devil provokes me into another fit of madness) I might get some more. Meantime I have to research these and get them set up for our dry season.

I seem to have the same problem as you.... resisting the fresh hoya delivery at Bunnings! Can you show a photo of the multifloras? I didn't know you could get variegated ones here. You bought a couple of my faves, obovata and paucifolia.

Inside AND out variegations! Super jealous! I better keep my eyes open if any show up here (never mind that multiflora hates me) I'm guessing these were grown by Paradisia Nurseries like most hoyas around Aus..... (no idea why my typing suddenly went bold!)

These are all Paradisia plants, they package them all up the same way.

I got all my new plants set up in a new area by running a 50mm steel pipe high up in a shady part of the garden. Then I used 8 gauge wire to form hooks and suspended the plants below.

Filtered light gets through but there's parts that are shadier than others so it's a matter of working out which plants prefer which position. There's automatic irrigation coming on in the early hours of the morning, before dawn.

But I'm a bit concerned for the polyneura. It's showing signs of heat stress even though I've given it extra water and have dunked it in the nearby fish pond to get all the leaves wet. Time will tell.

I lost my first polyneura during a heatwave (yes, Tas can have heatwaves!) It got too hot and dry and I then overwatered it so it rotted.

Yes, I know Tassie does have heatwaves, but unfortunately I've never experienced them. Only been there during the months of August and November, very un-heatwave times of year, LOL. The polyneura is in the shade house now where the humidity is higher so hopefully it will cope better.

Hey tropicbreezent!! I found a variegated multiflora at Bunnings the other day! I bought it but let's face it, it will die. I can't grow multiflora . But you can't say I didn't try!

what a great find, I;m in WNY and my stores only ever seem to have carnosa, if they have anything, found my compacta and my australis at a nursersery labeled as carnosa

Tonight I found the other variegated version! Now I have both. Finally my stalking pays off... :D

Congrats. How is the first multiflora going? My multifloras have peduncles developing. Surprised they're doing it while so small. None of the others in that new group are showing any signs but most are growing well and starting to wind around each other.

er.. it's still with us. Maybe... I am not a good multiflora parent. Although multiflora is a crazy peduncle growing fool. My multifloras all grow peduncles within seconds of arriving in my house but they drop them seconds later...

up until recently I watered my multis more than my other hoyas but they still just curl up and throw yellow leaves at me. Every new leaf or peduncle drops off. At this point I realise I now have nothing to lose so I started to flood them. So far... it might be working... I'm scared..
