This is pretty and soft, but only 20" wide. Don't know if you could manage two of them there. Cut out a pair of 20" circles of butcher paper and lay them out on the table to see if they'd work. Once you think they might do, then use painter's tape and try them on the ceiling. They have matching sconces too.

I think the room needs as much light as possible. Maybe a fixture that sparkles would be best. Think a chandelier that has a bit of glam but has a classy design.

Is there a room above? if not, put a skylight over the table.

Flush mount would be very nice here, even semi flush. We have two examples below.

I like the suggestions about sconces on the walls and using a low bowl or maybe a table runner instead of a tall centerpiece on the table. Is recessed lighting an option? Or possible small track lighting around the room? Also I'd like to see more white than gray on the ceiling and walls and maybe wildly colored chair coverings.

I would not put a chandelier in this space. I would get two buffet lamps and wall art to tie room together and add texture. Two mirrored sconce lights for additional lighting and visual interest to frame artwork. Accessorize buffet table and dining table after your major pieces are in place. Texture is what is missing in this space. Your dining table and chairs are lovely just some fine tweaking to complete the look. Not saying this art work and pieces is your taste but showing you a visual for ideas to begin your search. Could you post another angle of this dining area?
