We are adding a deck with pergola to the front of our 1979 multi level split. The decking will be low maintenance decking and the pergola will be wood which will need to be painted. Our back decks are dark brown so I was thinking we would have both the deck and the pergola in dark brown, but since they will not be the same material, they may not match exactly and I'm worried they will not match.
I'm also thinking of adding a pergola over the garage and windows on the left side to tie it all together. Or maybe brackets and window boxes instead of pergola over the windows on the left hand side of the house.

My husband thinks the decking should be dark brown and the pergola white, but we do not have white anywhere on the house. But if we added extra decorative elements over the garage door and something over the windows, they could be white too. Or will it all look weird and tacked on.

What do think about colors for the decking, pergola(s), brackets front door, shutters? What elements should we add or not add to garage and left side of house?
