Window Trim Question

The windows in our house are almond (which I honestly hate), they are only trimmed out on the bottom, and we have blinds in every window. I want to finish trimming them out but I'm struggling because of the window color and the blinds. My idea is to paint the inside of the window box white/the Trim color, then add wood trim on the outside and caulk any gaps. I can't add a true window box/wood frame on the inside of the window because there isn't enough room on each side with the blinds. I'd also like to keep the bottom part that's already trimmed out for cost saving purposes. Below is a pic of the window in my laundry room. I'm not sure if it helps but it's there! Do you guys think this will work and will it look ok?? Any ideas/opinion/tips/whatever are appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
