Hey guys,

I picked up a chikoo last summer from a guy who was selling them. It was about 1-2 yr old and grown from seed. Well I feel like the plant hasn't grown at all. Seems like it's the same size as when I bought it. Last year ants had grown a farm in the pot the chikoo is planted in and I had to use some organic deterrents. Now that the ants are gone I decided to replant it and when I did I noticed the roots are extremely small and definitely not big enough to hold the plant up. The plant is being held up with support and I want to encourage root growth. Is this how sapodilla are normally? Or do I need to do something to promote root growth. I just picked up a 0-10-10 fertilizer and noticed if says it promotes root growth but I had bought it for my flowering trees. Any advice will be great. I want my plant to get bigger and strong so I can get some chikoo in the next 5-6 years :)
