Need help selecting ceiling fans.

Our budget is low for ceiling fans $115-$250, I don't know if I should get a ceiling fan with or withouta light kit. We are doing oil bronzed hardware. We will have recessed lights all over the house.

Living room- chandelier or light fan, 12' ceiling
Master bedroom - nicer fan with or without light
Secondary bedroom fans - cheaper with or without light

Suggestions needed!

Many fan lights imo don't look good. If light is needed [and sounds like you don't need more] -- I like the lights that point out/away, not directly down into faces....

Totally agree that if you don't need the light buy fans without the light kit. Often the lights are the ugliest part of the fan, especially if you're on a tight budget. Plus they get dirty and dusty and you have to change the bulbs. In my opinion all fans look better as just fans.

Any light in a fan has been limited so much, they aren't worth putting them up. Light especially with high ceilings needs to be down where you need it which is below 9'. Floor lamps, table lamps are both more effective. I also am not a fan of ceiling fans either, you might want to check out some of the new floor free standing fans. More effective for moving air, and they don't cost anything to install either.
