Well look, I'm absolutely ruthless about removing flowers (and the unusual fruit) from tomato plants upon or before transplant. Absolutely ruthless. Still, if it grew, bloomed and set fruit after being transplanted, I don't think that it would be necessary to remove the fruit to have robustly growing plants in the early season. It sounded like they are already doing that.

If I missed the evidence of a too early shift to fruiting and my expectations for WOWs were too high, I suppose I would remove them and allow the plants to get on with vegetative growth.

You, go, Jerry! You're making me wish I'd planted already. It's hard to know for sure, isn't it?

May weather seems to be a crap shoot here, but it looks like our season is continuing to be ahead of schedule. Since they're already planted out, I'd be inclined to leave the fruit and flowers, let them continue to do their thing.
