We are replacing our carpeted stairs with wood to match our wood floors. It is a beautiful tiger wood, mainly reddish brown, but a variety of colors. Our stair rails and posts are a bleach blond stain which was the color of the original floor (from mid-90's). Re-staining them will be ridiculously expensive, so the person installing the floors suggested painting them. I have found some combinations of white posts with black rails on HOUZZ. Any other suggestions? I'm not sold on this.
