One difficulty I see in your kitchen is a mixture of warm and cool tones. Your flooring is warm and I cannot tell from the picture, but the area around the ovens is warm. Your backsplash and wall paint is cool. I am not certain what it is, but your countertop looks warm on my computer. Your cabinets could go either direction. Painting the cabinets white will not fix the warm / cool mix problem.

I suspect you have been trying to update with the popular gray / white theme in mind. I am guessing the backsplash is new. Unfortunately, changing the floor (which is really pretty and light) would be very expensive. A more neutral backsplash pulled from the lightest color in the countertop would help unify the elements and lighten the kitchen. So would a lighter color on the walls - barely there gray if you must have gray, but cream would work better with the floor and oven surround.

ok good. then you could do a little breakfast nook. if you look on Pinterest or google, "small nooks", maybe you could get some ideas. with a bench under the window and then a little L, it would free up some space.

and yes, I was going to mention the gray paint. I would rather see a warmer tone or a light sage on the walls

White cabinets should be able to work well in your kitchen. Are you keeping the backsplash? Changing the countertop?
