Thank you both for your help! :) I would like to take some fresh cuttings and try my hand at rooting them. They look like nice shrubs to have around.

Has anyone tried rooting these?

though possible.. most shrubs are not easy ... and the starting point is whether you would use 'fresh' cutting as you say.. or old wood ... and whether it is done in summer..fall.. or winter ... most FRESH things.. rot.. long before they might rot ...

it is susceptible to a couple problems ... of which im not recalling the specifics right now ... the usual prunus suspects ... and is usually called.. a short lived plant in many regions ...

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely try my hand at some fresh cuttings from fairly new growth with several pieces. Maybe 12 pieces.

I will take your advice and Google some info for propagation. What is your take on rooting hormones?
