100% snake oil along with greasy sales pitch. Heating your tree to temperatures above 120F for 16 hours with a night time rest over and over for a week or more is being researched for home owners. with a finite nomber of trees. I can't remember where I found.

No minced words with johnmerr but I agree. Steve, my trees get heated to 116 degrees for about 8 hours a day several times per summer here. That's my cure for greening and ACP. They don't survive in that kind of heat, but my trees do!

Take a look at thetreedefender.com. This will almost guarantee a greening free tree for at least 5 years after planting.

I have been unable to find a price for the Tree defender Products so I would be inclined to pass on them. Any reputable dealer will have their product prices up front. I have found that by living in 6b Cincinnati I have no problems with greening. Any of you might consider moving to Cincinnati where growing citrus trees is easier than in Florida.

I would think that a real cure is somewhere near on the horizon. Some type of antibiotic/antibacterial injection or a systemic solution.

All of those brilliant scientists out there at UCR and other places are probably working diligently on a solution.

People claim what they want until they have to back it up with actual peer-reviewed research. I call major B.S. here.

Two treatments are known for the moment, and none guarantee the cure: thermotherapy (but the bacteria in roots will survive) and antibiotic injection (hard and slow to apply).

Right. To realistically cure you have to do the thermal then immediately graft. You still have to quarantine the grafted plant to let it grow and retest.

Actually, there is a genetically engineered virus that shows great promise at combating greening. There are no viable antibiotic injections to treat infected trees at this time, and the use of antibiotics would be unwise.

I doubt this has that gmo virus. And while treating makes sense for Florida where hlb is everywhere, it's a horrible idea for somewhere like California where disease spread can be controlled by removing trees.

Heating is only practical for home owners trying to save a favorite tree or 2. Any orchard would be best cutting an infected tree down. It would also be probable that by the time a tree shows symptoms many other trees would be infected. setting up 1000 heat tents in a 10000 tree orchard is a no go. Removal is the way to go.

Heat treat doesn't cure every time. It's really best for obtaining clean budwood and starting over.
