I hope so too Kevin! I'm a bit worried about being closer to some trees, and potentially birds and squirrels, haven't had issues with them yet...

I think I will skip the trays outside this year. Last year I didn't have them but mine aren't as breathable as yours are (not as many holes). So probably not using them outdoors is better for me.

I am partly relying on these trays to keep pots from blowing off my shelves! It gets so windy here..

and the openness will make it so much easier to submerge the whole tray to water a bunch at once..

Do you not water them from the top with a hose?

Hmm... it gets windy here but my pots don't get toppled often. I've experienced the NS wind first hand and can attest that it is far more powerful than the wind here inland!

I ususlly water from above with a pump sprayer. But lately I am finding it difficult to ensure all the mix is wet, some of my plants have suffered a bit from this indoors. During summer I like submerging the pots occasionally. Looking forward to giving everyone a good soaking soon!

yeah it gets much windier here than inland. At least I am not dealing with Cape Breton winds!

Nice set up with the greenhouse. And they stay protected from the rain. That is what I don't have. I will try to do without. I have been lugging the plants out and in for a few weeks now, but I have fewer plants. Seven trays, so that is doable. I will see how it goes this summer. Maybe I will bring some mesembs in when there is a lot of rain. Most cacti should be ok. I hope!

Very nice.. I wouldn't worry about the cold. I'm very harsh with my plants, they've been sitting outside since early April. Perhaps that's why most of them are burnt. But I'm sure the summer foliage will replace them really quickly.
