My first two Hoyas!

Hello! Despite having several big garden centres nearby, I hardly ever see hoyas in my part of the world. The occasional batch of single kerri leaves but that's about it. Then, lo and behold, in the space of a few days I find two larger plants in two separate places! I was so excited that I just couldn't help myself. The one on the left is a carnosa. The one on the right was just labeled 'hoya' in the shop. I thought it was a non variegated carnosa but when I got it home I wasn't so sure anymore. The leaves aren't as long as on the other one. Could anybody offer an alternative id for it? I've included a close up of a smaller plant that I removed when I repotted the big one so you can see the leaves better

I've been reading through the forum here (that thread on noob mistakes was particularly amazing) but if anyone has any other specific tips for a first timer like me then I'd be very grateful

The other hoya is "Australis Tenuipes" i believe...

A very fast vigorous grower!

That's good to know! Thank you. I was worried that I might have inadvertently purchased one of the notoriously harder to grow varieties.

What a beautiful Australis, and the Carnosa is just as gorgeous. I agree with you on the Noob post, it's great !

The Australis came from a really amazing nursery. The sort of of place that just gets everything right. Everything I've had from there has been healthy and beautiful and got the best start in life. Not expecting anything but hopefully I won't have to wait too long for it to flower. Maybe next year? Not sure if it's flowered before. I checked it over but couldn't see any peduncles. One or two tiny bits that I thought might be some coming through but it's more likely they're just new leaves. The new leaves coming through are really beautiful, dark red and tacky to the touch, almost like rubber.
