I don't know if Ikea would have anything that long.

I have the Sugatsune on my gate, I think is 20" long. It is a nice pull. I would not use it on an Entry door. I love these fixtures but there are few things to think about:

1. When you close the door, the door may swing open as there is no latch that holds the door to the door jamb.
2. You have to always make sure you lock the door when you close it so that it cannot be opened from outside simply by pushing on the door.
3. It would be hard to get a multi point lock on a door with a handle and a deadbolt.

I am a fan of multi point locks and would use them exclusively on exterior doors. It allows the door to be more secure and also enhances the air sealing capabilities of the door.

Thank you all for your recommendations! I've compiled a good list of options based on the recs you all gave and am heading out to our fixture/hardware store today to look at some samples and test drive them. We were thinking of something around 2 1/2 feet long, but I'm not sure if that would feel overwhelming since our entry way is not huge. Also, I'd like to test them out because, as much as I like the aesthetics of these pulls, they would likely be harder to use than a regular exterior doorknob because there's no latch. Weighing the aesthetics vs. functionality question...

I had a custom pull made and am now just realizing there is no latch. Now I wonder how to shut the door with out locking the deadbolt. Does anyone have ideas? Is there such a thing as a catchable deadbolt? Thanks for your thoughts on this!
