what do you recommend for a hardwood floor that does not clash with this table?

Hi! Don't worry, there is no reason that your table needs to "match" your floor. Quite the opposite! The floor color just needs to look good with the table but furniture is typically an entirely different animal than flooring or cabinetry. Can you send pictures so we can better help you? What type of wood is the floor that you are redoing?

Depending on the type of wood flooring you have it would look great in a medium dark tone. One flooring that I would avoid with this table is an oak floor in a yellowish tone. If your floor is oak you can easily stain it a color that takes out the yellow cast.

the floor is parquetry and old so I am replacing it with Engineered wood. I wanted dark bark or grey finish in Maple wood but not sure the striking red in the table is going to look good with these floors.
Also I prefer the Aged/rustic look. the table looked gorgeous in the store but now I realize it is limiting my options for the floor or other wood furniture :(

I'd probably go with a darker wood tone.(brown)

Have you also considered a lighter maple floor -- Try to photoshop with this floor --

From what you've photoshopped the only one that doesn't work for me (or for your table) is the bottom left one.

The photo in the middle with the more dark grey colour really makes the table stand out, it's a lovely table it's nice if it stands out I think. :-)

I like the idea of taking a color from the table for your floor. There are so many to choose from one that should work.

thanks everyone I am now more comfortable with my options :) Ed I am sure a light floor is best with this table but I have been waiting for a long time to move to the darker side so I am not changing my mind :)
