I am looking for the same thing, modern also, but I do not need the 3 way. Can you share your source for them? Sorry I cannot offer any guidance and thank you in advance.

i just stumbled across price industries and they seem to have a lot of choices. here is a link that might be helpful: https://www.priceindustries.com/diffusers/products

Yikes, I do not care for those at all.

If you don't care about directionality Signature Hardware has a ton of options and they even include louvers (which you don't have to install). Their price for nice registers + louvers is less than some companies charge just for the vent cover.

Here are all their wall registers which can be used on the ceiling but you'll have to drill a hole on the register. The clips they use aren't recommended for ceilings. My AC guy said it would be no problem to put the holes in.

For the ceiling I would recommend one of the steel products. The others are a lot thicker and heavier. So they are both harder to drill through and a bigger danger should they ever fall out. They will do some damage to the floor or a person on the receiving end.

The steel vents come in numerous sizes and colors so you should be able to find anything you want. Hope that helps.

OMG,vent's were never intended to be fashion statements so no one is going to manufacture something that doesn't sell. You can buy vents that meet every conciviable function, buy some and move on to something people will appreciate.

Forgot to mention this place. They have 1-4 way louvers on some of their ceiling vents. I found the best way to shop is to use their "shop by size" link. Many of their items take several weeks for delivery https://ventcoversunlimited.com/shop-all-vent-covers/
