I'd add the crown moulding and paint the ceiling the same as the walls. Are you adamant about the red? We're seeing more coral and orange walls these days. If your powder room is really tiny or has a low ceiling like the coral one below that I designed, then you could paint the walls and ceiling the same color without the crown moulding.

Couldn't agree with Carolyn more - definitely go for a coral, it is so much more forgiving that red.

thank you - I appreciate the feedback - I am firm on the red, the color is chili pepper by Benjamin Moore. It is a very small room and I should have added crown moulding, but for now will paint ceiling too.

GREAT color. I would use a deeper browner variation on the ceiling but definitely paint it. Consider Hot Apple Spice or Red Rock. If the surfaces are smooth, use semi gloss on the ceiling. If not, use flat. Eggshell on the walls.

I like flat on the ceiling and walls.

Spotted that great coral powder room on your page, Carolyn ... love it ! I also totally agree re flat paint. There are, I think, a couple of misconceptions re the usefulness of semi gloss v flat .. one is that the latter is not 'washable' ... and the other is that people actually 'wash' their walls ! Also, flat paint, in my opinion, usually gives a much more sophisticated finish, so is always my first choice, particularly in powder rooms, where the last impression you want to give is one of this space being a utilitarian, scrubbable box ! :-)
