yes what is really nice about the front of your home is that you put a garden with medium size supporting bushes, you will have nothing to mow, can make it bloom year round, and if you make it perrienial, you will have little work each year.

I question the dining room carpet too. are you sure you want one?

I would also like to point out that in most of the scenarios, it looks like the curtains are in charge, they are to brownish to go with the other things in the room.

maybe I don't need a dining room carpet. maybe window treatments and art in that room will be enough

I don't think anyone answered your question about curtain length. You want to hang them toward the ceiling so get 96". Have you chosen a furniture arrangement yet? I think you do have a couple options, right? It's not set in concrete? If the arrangement allows I would say to hang the panels beyond your window also to give the illusion of a wider window> Have the inside edge of the panel overlap the window by just a few inches. Be sure you have enough fullness so they don't look sparse though.

the rug I was originally going to pick is out of stock so I'm considering the blue/cream one

as you all know I am hesitant about buying a rug online. for the fun of it I dragged my porch rug inside tonight for size (5'3X7)

will 5X8 be large enough?

I also moved some furniture tonight to try the arrangement Claire thought was a good choice.

I like both arrangements. I can see this last arrangement being ideal for when I have family over at Christmas time. Could put the tree where the end table is.

I also really like the arrangement Grover came up with as its cozier/friendlier feeling.

This might be crazy, but is there a rug size that would be ideal for both arrangements so that I can rearrange furniture as needed, say at Christmas time? 6 X 9 seems appropriate for this last arrangement (I taped it on the floor)

If you are so hesitant to buy your rug online (can't blame you) There are stores in town and if you don't like the rug you just have to lug it back to them. Here's a few from Target! Order online, free ship to store and you can return to store.

I think the larger 6 x 9 could work in both arrangements. When you have the sofa with its back to the entrance, you'll just have more of it under the furniture. That's not a bad thing.

yes, online, both walmart and target have huge shopping many of the things you find at other online sources and even in town are available through their sites have not heard from target yet but walmart you have free shipping then you can take back.

I bought my daughter a wool rug from Target a while back that I love-Walmart and Target both have some fun cool stuff that doesn't cost a fortune and you can afford to switch it out in 5 years if you get tired of it!

oh, i so hear you jans! I bought a few things over the years. Some of the things they offer are trials not just cheap chinese goods. And if you go online, you can find the same things often that rh pb, and every one of the favorites have. amazon has some incredible deals too, and better pillows then most.

Grover any chance you could do me the biggest favor and put both rugs in my room? I'm not sure how difficult it is to do this but if it isn't too much trouble? I'm having the hardest time making a decision. it doesn't help that one is out of stock until the first week of July and I'm eager to get this going

you can back off some if you like but it looks good.

The color looks fine from here. (It's hard to judge on a monitor.) But I think you actually could do a 5 x 8. A smaller rug would look more centered in the space.

this is it more centered. I can't lift the TV stand on my own so it'll have to stay like that for now until I get some help

hello again, I have another thread going for curtains but sense you were all so helpful I'd thought I'd show you the cheap curtains I picked up this afternoon ($16 for 2 panels!)

the curtain rod I purchased was way too large so I will need to exchange.

The curtains are too short unless you are going to clip them to rings. Even then it might be close.

they aren't hung properly yet. I just stuck them up there to see how the color looked.

I really wish it was easier for me to get a really true color through my camera phone. I feel these are a tad bit more Yellow/golden in person

I think your curtains could be 'light sand'?? Maybe an -off white from Ikea? I forget what trim paint is...

hi everdebz the curtains are definitely a light creamy yellow. it's very hard to capture. when it's finally nice outside again maybe I can get a better photo of them outdoors.

I'm going to continue to look for curtains and pick up a solid (non sheer) when I see one at the right price

I finally painted and chose Sherwin Williams Accessory Beige. Now I just need help with curtains.

I like this arrangement, but can u flip the chair and tv corners? Is that too much glare on the tv during the day? Also I liked the side tables that were open underbeath, then u might be able to fit a small tan, square storage ottoman under it? I love being able to put my feet up. And, u can use the storage in the ottoman for extra snuggle throws or whatever u need to keep handy.

I like those curtains, but would like to avoid any room darkening curtains as this room tends to be a little dark
