If you have giallo ornamental granite in your kitchen, what color floor did you go with? I have lost my way. I have been in and out of tile stores and I am just all over the place. I can't figure out what will look best and I don't want to make a mistake.

I will have off white cabinets, giallo ornamental granite and oil rubbed bronze hardware. We have real hardwood floors in the rest of the house that will be restained in a walnut color.

I'd love to hear some ideas or see some pictures of real kitchens. Thanks for any help you can give.

Any reason you don't want to continue your hardwood floors into the kitchen?

Some lots of Giallo Ornamental go toward yellow/golds and some are more of a cream with brown tones. We have used a custom color that would probably be close to dark walnut in a home with giallo ornamental countertop and shell white cabinets (off white). Unfortunately, we added to and restained the flooring several years after we did the kitchen so I don't have any photos of the flooring color.

Unclear: you are running the same wood into the kitchen but looking for a different stain for some reason? or you want to use a non-wood flooring like tile?

Almost all the examples with light cabinets seem to have wood floors. But I think you could pick a tile by matching tones from the stone -- either a light tan or maybe a warm gray.

I used Jerusalem Gold limestone floors with Giallo Ornamenal counters.

Continue your same hardwood floors into the kitchen, which will look great with the granite and also flow better with the rest of your house.
