Very nice room and furniture. Have you made an idea book? Will you add a rug? What does the rest of the house look like?

I had a rug in there but plan to do without and allow the wood to show. These hardwood floors run throughout the first floor, kitchen is updated, living room has a rookwood fireplace. We have renovated most of the house and tried to keep with it's period. A couple more pics.

Go light! Something along the lines of a Gracie or DeGounay paper (but don't try either unless you have a VERY serious budget) would add lightness and gentle, open pattern.

I looked at embroidered wallpaper for my master and decided I didn't have enough wall space to do it justice. I also decided I wanted texture over a real "print' on the walls. And one word of caution, the reason there is cork on the walls is when you put hardwood down without carpets, the dining room will sound like an echo chamber during parties.

I would be interested in finding a nice design with a cork background. I'm trying to design this space without a rug and feel that some pattern on the walls is necessary. Looking at Graham and Brown to begin my search.

I agree, texture is important and wallpaper is coming back. I can tell you my friends thought me mad when I told them how much wallpaper I was putting up (entry, dining, master/master bath & guest bathroom). But once it got up, it all made sense - meaning we planned the entire space to flow from one room to the next which is important. Since the kitchen opens to the dining room if I didn't have cork on the walls it would be really loud. By the way, your home is gorgeous! I had to put trim in my space so it would have detail, you already have wonderful bones to your home.

Don't know if it is possible, but I added pot lights to my rooms wherever I could, at least the four corners of the room, it really brights up the space and makes the room feel larger when the corners are lit. Just make sure you use LED and dimmers.

I have plenty of light as it appears that my dining room is smaller than yours being approx 14' x 15'. Thank you for your help! Your home is beautiful!

Keep us posted on what you decide. Decorating is the fun part, renovations, not so much. LOL. And thanks, it was a brutal renovation due to a flood from a plumbing issue. I did give you the yrmural site - they are significantly less than degurnay, Gracie or zuber. The rooms on the site reminded me a lot of your gorgeous dining room and the panoramic certainly would be in keeping with the style of your home. It would be light and bright!
