You're way ahead by being able to see the models, so you can visualize the overall effect rather than just having to imagine it. I note you say "I always thought I liked dark cabinets" -- are you having second thoughts? is that kitchen seeming dark to you now? Are there other options, or just these two?

Both look sharp, but there are clearly differences in overall feel. With good lighting and light counters, I don't think your kitchen will be a cave if you go dark, but it will certainly be much darker than a white kitchen! As for trends, unless you plan to sell in the next five years, it doesn't really matter, so you should go for what you like. Or take the layout and get your own cabinets from somebody else in some intermediate shade...

Will your floors be dark as well? I like the first photo with the darker cabinets and the lighter walls. Since you said you have a lot of light darker cabinets would be good. I would not use darker cabinets in a kitchen with very little natural light because it would feel smaller. White cabinets are always a trend but if you have a very open space and natural light darker cabinet would look nice.

We have dark solid wood cabinets in our RV. I don't care for them and mark easily.

Here are my choices- what do you think?

I like the white cabinets. I find them more cheerful. Think of the time when it is dark early outside, though I have no idea what geographical location you are at.

Both are trendy, dark gray as well as white.
