Follow-up question: I forgot to add that it has been a very wet spring here and I have heavy clay soil. I left some allium in the ground and I fully expect what I didn't remove will rot. Most everything I pulled looked healthy, but there were several that had already started to turn to mush.

Is your question if you should remove the alliums? If you have already observed them rotting , I think you have your answer.

I have soil with high quantity of clay and alliums don't really like me. I have a theory that maybe I should put a few inches of sand under them, but I haven't tested my theory.

I'm sorry, that was not a question. I was distracted by my littles and got pulled away before I could finish my thought. The allium foliage was too much for me and the placement wasn't the best for them anyway, so I decided to save some to transplant and leave some just to see what happens. It's been so wet that I was able to pull many allium out just by slowly tugging on them. If the ones I left make it, fine. If they don't... meh.

The question I meant to ask was: What is my best option for saving the muscari, puschkinia, and daffs? Amend their soil? I don't want to lose them. I see you already suggested a solution to help the allium, so thanks for that!

I'm not sure on that. When I planted two bulbs that required better drainage, I just used builders sand.
