Peace Lily Root Rot

Hello.

I have two peace lilies and I water them at the same time. I usually wait until they droop before I water them but noticed that one wasn't perking up after I watered it. I gave it a bit more and no difference. I put it by a sunnier window because the soil wasn't drying out and no luck. (They are both in hide-a-pots (des caches-pots), but the healthier one has a too-large hide-a-pot and I think it allowed better air circulation for the roots...)

So, I lifted it out of the pot and noticed that the roots were all dark or non-existent:

I knocked off the soil and discovered that there were very few healthy roots left!

It potted it with new soil in a smaller container, one that is about an inch/2cm larger all around the 'head' and took off any dead leaves.

It's been two days now and I see no difference. Should I cut back the leaves? Would it help?? They are droopy but not browning or yellowing...

The plant is about two years old and in indirect light. Normally, it's in northern light, similar to that in the last photo.

Please advise me as to what more I could do to save my lily!

Thank you!
