Western flower thrips?

Look up "Plum Curculio" It is the earliest insect that attacks .

But definitely looks like insectoid damage followed by bacterial or fungal infection after the skin was broken.

Are you in the west coast? If so, I think it is more like thrip damage or damage caused by catfacing insects. BPlum curculios tend to tunnel in and damage inside. Your fruit appears to have external damage.

Yes I'm in Los Angeles. Do you think they are still edible or I should pick them off?

I woud take the smaller one out. I usually don't keep "twin" nectarines like that anyway. You should search for how to get rid of thrips. I believe spraying during bloom is needed.
