Dying dahlia

I bought three dahlias last week, just cheap ones from the corner lot, but I love the creamy white ones....anyways, two of them are fine but the white one is looking terrible, the leaves have gotten brown spots, started yellowing, and the whole plant is wilted...I cut off the worst of the leaves but to be honest, they all look bad. I'd this a fungal issue, or bugs? Is this from spending just one rainy night in a tray of rainwater? Please help, I don't want to lose the white one. Also I haven't had a chance to plant it yet but they usually do fine in their small homes for a while, so I don't think that's the problem.
