Does anybody have a Samsung wall oven or induction cooktop?

I'm familiar with the Samsung induction range. From reading posts, it seems like a decent number of forum members have it and have generally been happy with it.

Does anybody have a Samsung wall oven or induction cooktop, though?

Oven: http://www.samsung.com/us/home-appliances/wall-ovens/single/nv51k7770ss-aa-nv51k7770ss-aa/

Cooktop: http://www.samsung.com/us/home-appliances/cooktops-and-hoods/induction-cooktops/nz30k7880us-aa-nz30k7880us-aa/

Other than Samsung's lackluster reputation for reliability in the world of cooking appliances, there seems to be a lot to like about both the wall oven and the induction cooktop.

I'd love to know if anybody has any experience with them. Or if anybody considered purchasing one but decided against it for some reason. Thanks!

If you buy those you'll be one of the first, they only came out a couple months ago so you won't find much in the way of reviews or feedback at this point. The ranges have been out much longer and have gotten good reviews overall. I'd say it's fair to use the range reviews as a proxy for the reliability and performance of the cooktop and wall oven. Samsung's reliability issues are mainly with dishwashers, their cooking isn't bad.

Thanks for the input. Tough call as to whether I want to be one of the first or not. My other option is the tried-and-true Bosch induction cooktop and wall oven. The Bosch and Samsung induction cooktops seem pretty comparable, though I must admit I think the gimmicky Samsung stuff (the magnetic knob and the "virtual flame") is kind of cool (on the other hand, I guess they are just more things that could break).

As for the wall oven, the Samsung has the "FlexDuo" feature that allows it to be split into two. It's not that great of a feature b/c I think there can only be a 75 degree difference between the two sections. But the nice thing about it to me is that if you are cooking something small, you can just use one of the smaller oven compartments and have faster pre-heat and overall less energy usage.

The Samsung also has a steam bake function, and I think it also has a steam clean function. Don't think the Bosch has anything comparable on its standard 30" wall oven.

So yeah, the extra "features" on the Samsung cooktop compared to the Bosch seem kind of gimmicky, but perhaps neat. The extra features on the Samsung wall oven actually seem like they could be useful.

I also think both of the Samsung products are a bit more visually appealing.

Kind of tempted to give them a try, but I would be kicking myself if I have reliability issues!

I have the double oven version of the one you linked. I really like it. I've only had it for a couple of months, but so far it's worked better than any oven I've had in years.

Pros: It heats up quickly, especially with the flex divider inserted. That is a perfect option for cooking one pan of something. The convection mode cooking is quite even--not perfect but much, much better than the Frigidaire model I sent back. The steam assist is a nice feature too, but don't mistake it for a steam oven. It doesn't have the features of a true steam oven, but it's nice to have it nonetheless. The wifi control is a bit clunky but is nice to have on the days you rush out of the house and aren't positive you turned it off. Other than that feature I haven't used the app controlled cooking modes yet. The ball bearing racks work smoothly, as do the standard racks. It's a very nice looking oven, the knobs and touch controls are both responsive and intuitive. ETA: It's a quiet oven with no loud fan noise or rattling fan blades.

Cons: The fit and finish is very Samsung. The doors give me a message of being open often, and I have to give them an extra push just to make the message go away. Turning on the oven light is more cumbersome than it should be. It takes a few taps on the touch control to get there, and once the light is turned on it takes another tap to return to the previous screen. Probably the most aggravating thing about the lights to me is that once the door opens and closes, the light goes out and has to be turned on all over again. This isn't good for putting things in and out, or checking on a dish. Another frustrating thing is the Gourmet Cook mode. It has beautiful pictures of the foods to use the mode, but there are no recipes to correspond to the food. I don't use the mode, but my child who is learning to cook was looking forward to using it.

My requests on moving it from a good oven to a great oven is to fix the light issue, tighten the fit and finish so the doors close without the messages to close them, and add more options and recipes to the Gourmet mode.

I do use it often. It works great. Just today I used the steam setting to slow cook ribs, before finishing them on the grill. They were perfect. I use it mostly for breads and meats to give a crisper outside and moister inside. Previously I had a Bosch steam oven. It was a nightmare! Loved the steam cooking functionality but the oven itself was awful. This Samsung is a good compromise with the steam assist...and I don't have to worry about it turning itself on randomly like the Bosch.

Did you make a decision on a cooktop? I was looking at a Kitchenaid induction cooktop, but was frustrated to see that 3 of the burners are the same size (7") and won't work with smaller pans. It seems like the Samsung might be more compatible with small pans, but I can't find any definitive information. I have a 4.5" sauce pan that doesn't work on my old induction range so I'm hoping not to repeat this frustration with the next one.

I have not finalized the decision, but I am leaning towards Samsung for both the cooktop and the oven at the moment. Unfortunately it will probably be at least another few months before I actually move forward with the kitchen update, so I guess I might change my mind between now and then!

I looked at thewall oven today. Thought I was going with it for my new kitchen. The deal breaker for me was the racks inside. The two non-telescopic racks were VERY hard to slide in and out. Wondering if this changes over time??

My non telescoping racks slide well. Perhaps the display oven was not installed properly. I noticed that on a display oven of another brand. The salesperson used her phone level app and it seemed the display unit was racked on install.

Just wanted to bump this thread and see if there were any more reviews/ input on this oven combo.

I'm considering the M/W Combination Wall Oven with Flex and Steam NQ70M770DS.

Can someone who has this one expand a bit on the cooking modes? Is the flex oven option really just convection bake? Is there convection roast? Can I broil in one zone and bake in another? Or realistically am I cooking one item at 300 and the other at 350?

An online review mentioned "dry fry" but I haven't seen any other info on that feature. We use the countertop "air fryer" often and this would be awesome built in! Is there a warming feature? Are there keep warm timers?

    What other ovens are comparable?

Hi Marci, I think I finally decided to go with the Samsung, the only decision is do I get the Convection Microwave/Flex Duo or just a single Flex duo and a Sharp convection microwave in a cabinet. I was considering springing for the stunning Wolf single oven, but its almost 2x the price and I really want to try the steam functionality --and I LOVE the idea of having 2 ovens in 1 oven space. Seriously, who typically uses the whole oven on a regular basis? Only Samsung & GE seem to recognize this flexibility has value. Anyway, I wanted to share with you the Youtube video that mentions the "Slim fry" capability in the convection microwave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5SfGi_maHI. I hope it is helpful! Good luck to you!
