Ice plants do very well in this area, provided you site them in a dry, sunny area with good drainage. Excellent choice for the top of a sunny rock wall. Most locations that will encourage the growth of sedums/stonecrops will also support ice plants.

When compared to the popular Jewel of Desert series, Wheels of Wonder has flowers double the size and are more heat tolerant. They do not require vernalization to flower.

I have heard tales of winter wet doing them in.

None of mine are blooming and we had a wet May and July. ( Boston)
