UGH, and we just finished with thrips. Well, I don't have any blooms now anyway!

I live on 1.25 acres of land next to acre lots currently empty .. do you think traps put out in the far end of the neighboring lots could help or hurt ? I don't want to attract them but if they are going to be here anyway wouldn't that be good ?

Hope it won't be too bad for you guys down South.

Lily, using a trap bag you'd get more JBs, not all the JBs get into the bag, they'd be landing in your garden too......one of my neighbors used a trap bag before, I got a lot of JBs in my garden, I had to spray to kill them.

Hate them. They started showing up here a couple weeks ago just one or two a day and now I see about 20 or 30 a day so hoping last years drought makes them fewer this year. Hardly any blooms so praying they are gone by the time everything starts blooming again. Like Buford said the thrips are about gone and on to the beetles. Always sumpin.

I am hoping that with a cooler summer they will be less this year. I've read somewhere that they love the heat but not the coolness. Not sure if that is true or not.

There is no other thing about which you can say There Here and everyone knows what it means. Nooooo was all I could think. Around here they don't even think about showing up until it at least in the middle 80's. They really have their nerve loving the heat then collecting themselves on the shady side of the flower.

I'm sure they'll be here anytime if you have them now, Ken & Judy. Last year they were 3-4 weeks early and lasted 11-12 weeks - it was painful! The most my kids and I removed in one day was 450 last year. I paid them per beetle to remove them but that got expensive. This spring has been more normal and cooler than last. Hopefully they will not stick around so long. I've always avoided traps but if anyone has any tricks to share I'd love to hear them.
