when was the last time it was repotted? Sometimes a stress (like repotting) can force a plant to kick into 'survival mode' …. but then again, that could mean it could just drop its buds ...

Update: I bought some Dyna gro and the blooms are getting much bigger!

That stuff is amazing. I use it on all of mine. Post a pic when they open. It's going to be so pretty.

I've heard so many good things on that product! This will be my first view of the flower type on this one. I'm excited! I'll definitely post when it blooms!

I use Dyna Gro products myself and am very happy with them. I was thinking it was likely a deficiency but there are several that can cause bud drop. Copper, boron, calcium, etc. Reminds me that my own Dyna-Gro is running low and I should probably order some more.

Candie, when the plant about to bloom, don't move it to another location. I noted every time I moved, the plant stop dropping the buds.

As usual, this product (Dyna gro) doesn't seem to be available in Australia. All of our fertilisers seem to have a higher nitrogen....it is very hard to get a balanced NPK. :( You are lucky to have this readily available.

I looked everywhere locally (Houston) but couldn't find it. I had to order mine online. Can you have it shippped? Amazon and eBay carry it.

Candice, I have looked online for it, but the ones I have looked at do Not send to Australia. I would think our customs would have a problem with anything being transported that is a liquid. Even if it comes in powder/granular form, I think it would be difficult to import. I haven't seen it advertised as available to buy here in Australia either. For reasons unknown to me, we struggle to find a balanced fertiliser for Adeniums here in Australia. I know other Aussies have tried to find a better fertiliser for our plants too. The closest we seem to be able to get is an orchid fertiliser. :)

Raches I have the phone number of the osmocote rep he was really good to talk to i gave him a NPK I was looking for he came up with this

Thanks Peter, I do have a orchid fertiliser that I use that has a NPK of 12-8-18 plus trace elements. I think my one is the closest I have been able to find for what I am looking for....I was after one that had an equal amount of NPK. This is one I sometimes use, it's a good fertiliser, but it is expensive to use if you have a large adenium collection. I buy this locally at a orchid nursery. (Not available online).

No worries Pete, I think I'll stick with the one I've got as I really want something that I can buy in store and not have to mail order. I especially like using liquid fertilisers.....and I don't trust that a liquid would get here in one piece. Thanks anyway.

All cool mate I'm going to give him a project but what would be the perfect NPK you could ask for it will put it to him for myself if you are looking for it it must be ok I have been using the NPK in the pic you can get it from bunnings it goes under the name native osmocote I don't use it because the small bags have wetting agent

Peter - Rachel - I am pulling away from Osmocote from what I have seen and had happen to my plants. The 2 plants I bought from gumtree perth were feed Osmocote, when I took plant out of pot roots were full of undisolved osmocote and bullet bugs, one plant died I still got one plant on life suport. I have used osmocote on other variety of plants, they died for no reason. I don't think Osmocote is that good, it just accumulates in the soil. I only use liquid fertilizer from now on,

Yeah I'm just trying to get an overall opinion on what would be the best for the adeniums in our climate I go off the NPK for a fertilizer if I was to buy all the products you have there it would cost me lots. the sales rep I talk to i just give him the NPK and what trace elements he gives me the closest he has. I'm allways looking for something better.

Final post for me on this thread. Here they are! I will have to eventually prune back the mother plants branches and maybe graft purple to that side so the whole plant will be like this. I love it!
