Love those tops, Lois. With my bad back, if I hadn't come up with a way to sandwich the quilt on my banquet table I wouldn't be able to do it at all. I have a banquet table in my sewing room that I use as both cutting and sewing table. When I have to do the sandwich - (my least favorite part) - I first mark the center of the back and top and lay the back down and use shop clamps to hold it firm. (The kind men use for woodworking.) Then I lay the batting down and center it and clip it. Then the top. Of course with each layer I am smoothing everything out and pulling tight before clamping. The sides will hang over so I first pin baste the center, then remove the clamps and slide the sandwich to one side and smooth and re-clamp and baste, then slide it to the other side and finish it the same way.

Lois, you are are a quilting machine, Every one a beauty!

Last quilt I sandwiched on the pool table. Had to do a little shifting but my knees were greatful.

Ha, Lois, I have seven ready to quilt! And I like the quilting part. Of course, I have the excuse of several weeks recuperating from surgery.

I think what holds me up is finding fabric and making the backings.

I don't think any of us like the sandwiching part, it's such a pain. I'm only doing baby or lap size on my machine, too difficult to wrestle anything larger on my Bernini...throat too small. I'm doing spray basting for sandwiching and really like the results I'm getting.

Now if I had a Tiara, well now ... that would be a different story...I've played with them at quilt shows...what fun. Brave the lower level and Enjoy!

Except maybe for these little cuties. These are Bonnie's Chunky Churn Dash blocks from her quilt of the same name. They are made using the 2.5" squares, 2.5" strips and 1.5" strips that I cut previously in the big scrap organization. It's so much fun finding the fabrics that go together for each little block. In the quilt, these blocks are alternated with hour glass blocks in a light and dark neutral. I am about half way finished with quilting my One Block Wonder. I haven't been completely naughty.

Sharon, I didn't know this scrappy quilt syndrome was such a persistent disease. I can't seem to stop. I'll have to join a 12-step program soon.
