Looking for suggestions to update/modernize our curb appeal.

We want to paint the current green trim, but painting the whole house is not currently in the budget. With the current house color and light brown roof, what color trim and shutters would look best?

Also looking for suggestions for the planter bed under the front windows. The palm tree on the left is falling over, and we don't love it anyway. What could we do to spruce up that area? Open to any and all suggestions!
