Sorry to hear about your Mom. I know how painful it must have been for her. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for her. As always, your photos are lovely. The first one does resemble Shores Of Time. I had it here and moved it out as it preferred a warmer climate but given the change in our weather here, maybe it would like it now lol. From your photos it looks like your scapes are still just above the foliage but maybe it is the camera angle. I do like the look of Forsyth Frostbound . Very soft color.

I wondered where you were. LOL Hope your Mother is recovering nicely. Mothers are precious to us, I miss mine so much.

What complications just from a hand wound! Infections can wreak such havoc. Your very frilled ones seem to be opening well. For example, Euphoric has a lot of fringy edge, but every bloom seems perfectly opened.

Julia, Jkayd and Mantis - My mother does seem to be recovering well. But when my sister took her to the E.R. on Monday her hand was swollen to five times its size and looked like a puffer fish. The infection was spreading throughout her body, and she had to be on an IV antibiotic to get the infection under control. The infection was quite debilitating and she could barely stand or walk.

Julia - I would say 75% of my daylilies are blooming on short scapes this year.

Mantis - Euphoric has done a great job opening after cool night. Many others with fancy edges have not.

Sorry to hear about your mothers. Glad she is recovering well. Very nice flowers. Forsysth Frostbound had an interesting color design.

I am so sorry your mom had a garden disaster. It isn't hard to get an infection when you are out, but that sounds like a tremendous one and I am ver glad they treated it aggressively with IV antibiotics. I have seen too many of those sorts of infections get out of control over the years I was an ICU nurse. so glad she is better.

Your blooms are gorgeous! I always love Forsyth Frostbound when you post it. Euphoric is gorgeous! I would be Euphoric over that color. Sycamore frills is a beauty too, but Frostbound is my pick by a hair.

Thank you Brad and Kay! Forsyth Frostbound is one of the few diploids I still grow. I keep it because of its unique color design and because its one of my husband's favorites.

Happy to hear your mom is doing better. Reminds me that I need to get a Tetanus booster this year or next. Gosh it must have been pretty bad for your mom if she was in hospital...........As for daylilies, Forsyth Frostbound is my favorite. I bet the delicate pink isn't colorfast, but it is so luscious in your photo. Carolina Pale Face is another pretty pink.....You make UF's look tempting. Turquoise Temple is a pretty soft color, although I don't get any Turquoise color in the picture........Best to your mom for continued recovery.......Maryl

Maryl - It's been so cool that Forsyth Frostbound has kept its color. Pretty much nothing does when it gets in the high 90s.

I hope your mom does well and is home quickly, she's probably missing her garden! My favorite without a doubt is Forsyth Frostbound, wow! Blue Over You and American Doll are lovely, my favorite pink.

Sending best wishes to your mother for a complete recovery. It sounded just terrible; thank goodness the infection was treated quickly with the antibiotics, and you must be feeling quite relieved, too. Your daylilies are superb, as always. I so much like group shots, so Sycamore Frills, Billy The Kid, Euphoric and of course, the beautiful Forsyth Frostbound are winners.

I can't pick a favorite today, but love all the pink ones.

Concerning your photos, all I can say is WOW! Such a beautiful group of daylilies! I love the pinks, but then I get to the orange and I love it too. Forsyth Frostbound is especially unique.

There's so many here to like that I can't say which is the favorite. Probably all of them! Sorry about your mom. My dad was always getting injured the last couple years of his life while gardening and even fell and broke his hip and had to go to rehab....but we couldn't keep him out of his beloved garden. I used to worry about him so! I will keep your mom in my thoughts. Hope her recovery is swift.

Celeste - I'm sure my mom has fallen other times, and we just never knew about it. Gardening is something she loves, and it gives a lot of meaning to her life. We've gotten her to cut back some the past two years, but she still has more flowers and vegetables than I would like. She's working really hard in rehab because she wants to get back to those plants. LOL I would say we're a lot alike. I hated being away from my garden last week.

Welcome back, sorry to hear about your mother. Gardening accidents can be catastrophic, especially if one is not up to date on the tetanus vaccination. The bacteria are often found in the soil and a bad scrape or puncture can introduce them into the blood stream. If you can't remember the last date of your tetanus shot, please go and get one soon. My second cousin died as a result of tetanus from a farming accident, so it can happen. Off my soap box now to say that your blooms are always so perfect and since you favor the pinks they're too hard to choose a favorite.

Thanks Heidi! My own tetanus shots are up to date, and I need to keep it that way. All gardeners need to keep that in mind. I know what you mean about pinks. It's hard not to love all of them.
