The quartz (2cm) countertop of the island was placed directly on the base cabinets. The other areas were placed directly over 3/4" substrate creating a reveal between the base cabinet and the u/s of the quartz countertop...The reveal was then finished using a high-gloss plastic laminate to match the door fronts
