If you're keeping the bedding, what color exactly is it? any plum in it?

What do you need to place in the room - what are you shopping for?

The rug is in an odd position. Can you move it to the left of the bed to fill that floor space?
Yea maybe move the rug and add a 2 sleek chairs infront of the bed to serve as a perfect reading spot and also to sit and enjoy the view!

Cool house! An Eames recliner would be great in there.

Thanks everyone. The bedding can change. I need to figure out what to get for:
    1) night stands
    2) chairs
    3) art
    :) anything helps

Headboard, night stand, great lamp, turn rug so when getting out of bed you step onto something cozy. Get console for under tv. I will post some ideas. Bbl

Something like this for under TV. Simple, straight lines, interesting finish to create some interest, but not fussy.

    Nightstand · More Info
The guideline is for the top of the night stand to be approximately the height of your mattress, so this one has the nice wood front, black and white/cream finishes. Clean lines. You would have to measure to ensure height is right.

If you like the browns here is interesting headboard. Might be too high for the height of your bed??

This chair might be more comfy for your bedroom and for watching TV than Eames? Depends on what you want.

I also have a concern about that "step" and coming home from a fun evening, and forgetting there is a step down? Yikes! I would consider a small bench perhaps on the one side just as a "visual cue" that there is a step down.

this is amazing piece, like a work of art. Might not be right for your room, but it sure is amazing. I just see a nice combination of earth tones in this room for restful, calm, relaxing space.

Something more neutral with black or dark brown leg design and this could go by the step down, or at the foot of the bed, depending on your desires.

Here is an inspiration room. This has Eames chair with a rug anchoring that space. Low headboard and night stands and low long art matching headboard length. Details will be important in this space. Simple bedding with white bottom sheets and pillow cases and black top spread, along with layer of cream or white foot blanket, and fur throw. A simple color palette of creams, whites, blacks and dark browns will be stunning yet comfortable. Enjoy!

A really simple bedside table like the Brix two-drawer would look great with your current furniture. They carry it at DWR.

It seems like the upholstered wall treatment is supposed to act as a headboard, but I'm not sure if its working. Looks like you have a gap between the bed and the wall. So, you may want to look into a headboard, too. Do you know the manufacturer of the bed? They may have some good headboard options.

Regarding chairs, if you're not into the Eames recliner, you could do a couple of Jehs and Laub lounge chairs. There are various upholstery options.

For art, I would do a large format photo on the far wall to the left of the bed. Something from the floating series by Bence Bakonyi would be cool. Available from Lumas Gallery (lumas.com). You'd want a large print 35.4 x 47.2" to fill the wall.

Cause I like art: wondering if you / houzzers think a piece of art would look good no wider than a panel. Possibly an exact custom fit [maybe taller than a panel by a bit]... asking how high the ceiling is?

If you don't want headboard, which would then fill the space: would you want a striking art piece above bed? something inspiring to you. Black frame too much?

Your room is amazing! Budget for things you need?

Hi, I need to do my full house for under 10-20. I have most pieces but need lighting and consoles nightstands and art
  • 9 years ago

I'd keep it as clean and minimal as possible. Art is completely personal but I would do one large contemporary piece on the wall to the left of your bed. Two clean nightstands, a console under the t.v. to help hide the wires and a chair with a floor lamp in the corner by the windows. These nightstands are amazing and are only $270 each. They have a drawer for storage as well. They're only 16" high though, and I would need to know the height to the top of your mattress.

I really like these lamps for the nightstands.
Something like this would be great for reading by the window. You could use the floor lamp I see by the bed with it.
Maybe this for under your t.v.?
The door slides you you could move it over and it would help conceal your plugs a bit. Here are some options for art.
I would stay all white with the bedding with pillows stacked instead of propped up. One cool accent pillow and a simple throw at the end of the bed for some color.
    Everything is from All Modern.

Liking kate's post - especially if you'd want a striking piece of art for the large wall - art gallery vibe? and not bedroom ha.... and mix with other soft neutrals.

Would definitely recommend some lounge chairs. Perhaps some throw pillows to go along with the furniture like this
