I have an open plan of roughly 5.75 metres wide by 14 metres in length which is going to be tiled using 60 x 120 cm tiles marble effect porcelain on a screed with 1mm or 1.5mm grout lines.

We always keep 0.5cm to 0.75cm away from the wall when tiling so if any expansion takes place that space will be free for the tiles.

My dilemma is whether i should split the floor and make an expansion joint?
