In cooler days covered with clear plastic dome (in cold nights brought inside)

Picture on 5-27 (very bushy with dark green leaves). 8+ hrs of sunlight.

The following pics taken this morning (6-12-2017) at 6:20 am. Has one good sized tomato and many small ones. Lots and lots of blossoms (we'll see how many will fruit).

Your Lime Green salad tomato plant is looking great! and you are taking good care of it.

Few years back I also grew them, it was a nice flavor tomato and very good for container growing not really dwarf but not big either. In my garden had no disease problems and was prolific.

Silvia --- fingers crossed I won't lose many blossoms (from all the plants). Yesterday's high was 98, today and tomorrow will be even hotter!

We don't get such crazy hot temps till August! Normal is about 85 this time of year here.

Your plant looks great! I grew it last year, but it was an afterthought I squeezed into a pretty shady spot and wasn't nearly as full and productive as yours. Nevertheless, the tomatoes I got were cute and flavorful and on the tangy side. Great for salsa.

Tony, that is hot! I lived in Arizona few years back, I know heat! :) We are having high temperatures too and non stop rain and I am still harvesting tomatoes, the cherry one looks like medusa and Neves Azorean Red are giving big tomatoes! they are making some nice gifts.

My problem now is the harvesting of the avocados, with the heat they are getting ripe sooner than normal and I have ground covers there, saw a couple of snakes peeking at me....

I have not grown it in the past two years but now that you bring it up maybe I'll sow some for fall. Lovely little dwarf and an abundant producer of decent size gloves that ripen to a golden glow. Ideal container plant.

Today's high 100. Tomorrow back to normal at 85. We'll see the blossom survival rate then.

Tony, I hope that today you stay in the air conditioner, look at your tomato plants tomorrow.:) My dogs did not want to go on a long walk this morning, they know it is too hot...

Picked the first ripe one today (6-23-2017) --- love it !

The size of a large egg, creamy flesh (but not mushy), some juice, and really good complex flavor. Hints of melon, citrus and a touch of sweetness with a tangy finish. 8+ taste rating.

If disease resistance and production stay the same --- will grow again!

Nice! How big is the June 12 the plant? I have been growing drawfs (but not Lime Green) for a few years and they don't seem to set fruit until they are pretty big ! Like 4-6 feet. I know our climates are different, but I wonder if I should be doing something different. I am using liquid ferts this year, but it doesn't seem to be changing anything.

Lime Green Salad doesn't behave like the dwarfs in the Dwarf Tomato Breeding Project. It sets fruit while still short and stays shorter than those plants. Mine got to about 2 1/2 feet tall. It's determinate, so once it's done producing, it only produces a few fruit here and there. It would be a good candidate for those who have spring and fall tomato seasons.

June 12th --- 2.5 feet. Same size now, just loading up with delicious fruit.

am currently growing indoors the following: MicroTom, Totem,
Gold Pearl, Aztek, Floragold Basket, Yellow Dwarf, Florida Petite,
and Red Robins Tomatoes. All plants were seeded June 15, except the
Red Robins. They were seeded May 1st.,
and the plants have all the way
from immature buds, and the way up 1” unripe fruit.

Tony, what's the latest update on that Lime Green Salad? Did it ever peter out? I may try t out next season... I could use another green tomato.

NC --- 7-24-2017 update:

Still very healthy with lots of blossoms. Yesterday picked 5 tomatoes (largest was at 6+oz), today 5 more (one was the biggest so far at 7.11 oz).

Average is about 3.5 oz. So far, over 45 fruits harvested, I expect a few more --- not bad for a total of about 10 lbs from a 2.5 feet tall plant.

It has become very juicy and the flavor is even better now. I'll rate its taste at 9.

Thanks for the update Tony. It is on my Wishlist for next year.

Today (7-25-2017) picked a couple of ripe ones and a handful of green tomatoes. Then, decided I won't wait a few weeks for the dozens of blooms to fruit and then have the plant die, but cut it down to about one foot.

I've done it before (when the weather cooperated with a mild October) into tricking a determinate to successfully produce a second harvest.

The AMAZING little engine that could...!

After cutting Lime Green Salad dwarf tomato plant down to nearly bare bones five days ago (see above pic) --- here are today's pics (7-30-2017). Not only is it bursting with new healthy foliage, but it has set some blossoms already!

8-13-2017 update:

19 days after cutting down this WONDER --- it is super healthy and ready to give a 2nd crop! Two feet tall and growing, lots of blossoms and a couple of fruits already set --- AMAZING tomato dwarf plant !!!

Next year we'll grow 6 of them.

Please update us on the amount of fruit that sets on the second flush as compared to the first round.

Today's (8-22-2017) update:

Counted over 20 fruits set so far, from pea size to egg size -- setting a lot more fruit now, than before. Probably because it's mid-Summer, and thus setting faster than in the cooler Spring. Many dozens of blossoms that look ready to set lots more. Removed a couple of brown leaf branches --- no disease that I could see, just old age (planted 3-27, so it's been outside for nearly 150 days now).

p.s. comparing the super healthy Lime Green Salad to the highly disease resistant Margo VFFT Hybrid behind it (which is dying from Septoria).

Margo --- big producer of nearly tasteless perfectly round red tomatoes --- I'll be pulling it out in a few days.

That's pretty impressive. I will try it next season for sure. Thanks for the update.
