Windymess, thanks for the welcome. I didn't feel much like gardening or posting since fall. Finally back out there and here. Depression sucks. (I'm not trying to get a lot of sympathy by saying that, more like trying to keep things in perspective for myself.)

Koffman, the raised bed came with the house. It's actually made of really big weather treated boards that act as a retaining wall to keep my yard from collapsing to the sidewalk. I added the stone border as an easy/quick way to keep soil in the bed for the plants.

Why would you remove Captain's Adventure? Yours looks way better than any others I have seen so far.

Your house is adorable and your hostas look amazing.... definitely dangerous because now I think I have another half dozen on my list of must haves.

Very pretty space you've made! Your hostas are doing so well. I bet you inspire some of your neighbors to do a little more gardening than they would have otherwise.

...I agree your Captain's Adventure doesn't look too bad. I finally dug mine up and potted it, and it seems to be doing better under the deck. Maybe this one likes a shady spot with bright light.

new bed looks fantastic! where did you get your H. Fingerprint? It looks very happy and growing well and I am after one myself.

Your Thunderbolt looks so blue! Watch out for that Painter's Palette, it gets tall and has a zillion seeds and every one germinates.

Mike, I got Fingerprint a few years ago from a local nursery, Telly's.

Kathy, so far haven't had a problem with the Painter's Palette. They don't get a lot of water, and I have so much shade, that they barely grow as tall as the retaining wall.
