Disappearing Nine Patch
Another baby quilt is finished and ready for the mail. Since I had a large stack of 5" squares left over from a previous quilt, I decided to give the 9 patch a whirl. Overall it was really easy - but my choice of cut and rearrange caused the loss of many of the prints. It's still very colorful - but not my all time favorite use of the blocks. I opted for some very basic quilting and added a yarn tie in some of the open areas. I still have one more baby gift to get organized so that will be next on my list of projects. Not sure it will be a quilt since it's a 2nd baby and I'm sure there are lots of blankies from the 1st one. We'll see what develops.

If you put the novelty blocks on the four corners, then you don't lose your "I spy" blocks. Put your white between them and then an accent color in the center. Here are the first two quilts I made using the D9P. I used that method on both.
It's pretty, though.
