Another TV vs Fireplace problem (with photos and plan!)

Hi everyone. First post here since I'm dealing with my first (of many) house questions. We recently bought a craftsman that was built in 1924 before tv's were a thing. Due to the climate here we'll never use the fireplace, but it's nice to have. I've been thinking and planning around putting the TV in front of the fireplace, in front of our windows (added benefit of being able to look out these nice windows and blocking the light) and in it's current temporary location across from the windows.

Having read a few posts here it's clear there are purists that don't think TVs have a place. Well, we use ours quite a lot - from gaming to sports to netflix. That said, it's a beautiful space and i'd like to celebrate the other parts of it.

A few notes:
• Projectors suck. That's not an option.
• My wife wants to keep the flow from the foyer to the dining room open, but currently I think our furniture is too spread out
• Our furniture doesn't really fit the space because these rooms are huge!
• It would be nice to be able to sit where the tv currently is, as you can view the fireplace and look out the lovely windows.
• Photos are from before we moved in - but I did a quick sketch of our current furniture set up. We are open to and probably need to buy new furniture.

Would love any feedback the community has - thanks!
