Sorry to say that no such thing exists. Wouldn't that be great but bugs and gardening go hand-in-hand.

It is the growing conditions provided hat draw in the pests, not so much the plant. For example, aphids are attracted to plants that are getting lots of nitrogen fertilizer. Maybe too much? Fungus gnats are drawn to the soil of plants that are kept wet. Maybe too wet? Leaf sucking insects are drawn to plants that are wet AND cooling in shade. Maybe too much shade/not enough sun? Moths that lay eggs that become caterpillars are drawn to the nitrogen and odors of all the brassica family.

So we have to learn how to create/control the growing environment we provide as much as possible and when using containers that can be more difficult than with in ground plants. Then learn how to prevent the problems that attract the pests. Also more difficult with containers. Some pests will arrive anyway but they can be easily controlled or kept from doing damage in many different ways.

Since you are gardening on a small scale it may be economical to look into small pop up row covers. I have seen ones that fit securely over containers. This would work especially well with lettuce and other plants that don't require pollination and will keep the bugs out.

So far as pest resistance...my chives and thyme are never bothered by anything and thrive even when I completely forget about it. Plus they are perennial in a lot of areas. Not as exciting as growing tomatoes and peppers but it's something.

It seems to be a bad year for aphids. I don't usually get them, but this year they are on my tomatoes and I have different ones on my fava beans.

Swiss Chard ought to be fairly drought-resistant and maybe you could find some seedlings at a nursery. Basil does pretty well too, and loves the heat. Oh. I see that you already have Basil which is going to seed. Perhaps you could take a cutting and start a new plant. If you keep picking it, you can delay flowering.
