Either works, but sometimes I get more cell rupture if the whole leaf is soaked for too long which you wouldn't get if you only put the stems in. So better I think to only put the stems in and know that not all leaves will perk back up, but many will. If they don't they probably have too much damage and would rot anyway.

I wrap mine in a paper towel and put the bottom in a water. So - you have stems in the water and the leaf blades touching humid towel.

But as Hyn said - some of them are past reviving.

I've put a pinch of sugar in the water with good results also. :)
