Havingfun drapes really won't work with her windows not enough space on the fireplace side of windows? Romans really are the only way to go...mount up high so gives the windows the apprentice of being higher..here are a couple examples...

home interiors nailed it. what I would say is only have one sofa table lamp, put the other on an end table. One of the best things you could do for this room would be to remove the old sconces over the fireplace and get new ones. that are much taller or remove them altogether. would you consider changing the art there too?

What if I hang my curtains only on one side of the windows not the fireplace side would that look akward?? I like the idea of the Roman shades but not a big fan of them,thank you.

Yes, one panel on each side would look awkward. I would leave bare over one panel. Great idea to replace the brass sconces.

Hanging them on one side will make the windows look even more scrunched towards the fireplace..not a good look.....the only thing you could possibly try is sheers with a subtle texture or print that could cover about 24" on each side and are see through and allow light And outdoors to show....you could trick the eye...something like this from Halfpricedrapes.com

I love the framed art that is above your fireplace. If you can share, where did you get it? Or do you know the artist's name so I can do a search?

@downbytheriver I definitely will change the sconces but not yet,I really like the one you photoshoped the picture I can't change cause we just got it and my husband is really liking it.

I love your art over fireplace but would have the switch plates moved both down onto the side wall under mantle and paint out to match walls so they disappear! Than you can lower your art..it is to high right now....when you decide to change up the sconces you can have electrician change it.

you can paint the switches for now to help them disappear and lower your art as much as you can until you can change the switches..looks like you have a good 6" or so.:))

Ok good a sheer gray..yes that will work and I am sure very budget friendly!!

Ok a couple other things..turn rug in other direction...pull sectional away from window so it is centered facing opposite wall do not line up with windows...center to entire wall...pull chairs and end table over so it is centered with sectional..make sure your furniture legs are on the edge of rug so it all looks anchored...pull chairs in so their front legs are on rug too! This will allow space behind your chairs so you can layer behind it with a small accent chest and maybe a mirror to reflect the light...

If I center the sectional with the opposite wall what should I do with the gap I will have behind the couch. The more I move it the bigger the gap is getting and wouldn't it make my room to small??

You need to move the section into the room more so the space is large behind it and the furniture is floating in the room..the chairs and sectional are to far apart...

Can you go up your stairs and take a picture of the entire space looking down I can help you much better with the layout:))

You can try the glass table behind chairs on that back wall or keep behind sofa..I actually think you could use a longer thinner sofa table behind sectional with taller lamps that have rectangular shades..and room for some decor maybe some baskets underneath for storage...something to think about..the console you are using for the tv actually would be perfect behind sofa if it is not to tall..should hit no higher than top of loose cushion...than maybe get a longer deeper tv media stand to take up more of the wall and balance out both sides of the room.

I love it....see how the lamps look on it and than move the glass table to the wall to the right of the window...you can hang a mirror over it and add a small accent lamp.

Looks very nice...I would try those lamps on the console you just moved behind the sectional ...the size is best over there....look for one smaller accent lamp at Home Goods for the glass table..and a pretty mirror.

Thank you couldn't have done it without your help,we have moved the Tv console back where it was my husband didn't like it there I will try to find a long console behind the sectional and place the lamps on that I will post pic when it's done.

I have attached a pic from my breakfast table I would like to add an area rug what do you think I know that I definitely need a new chandelier but that is later in the future since we need to change a lot of fixtures in the house I think the Kitchen is missing something,thank you.

I will only be honest with you:) that said....I would add a mirror with a bronze finish frame or framesless for above glass table...the casual light wood is not working with the very detailed metal and glass...be patient we will find the perfect one!

The black table with mirrored top is not long enough for behind sectional..hold out for something longer and a bit more substantial..because of the more casual whitewashed tv cabinets this piece just doesn't fit..again be patient and we will find the perfect one!

Sorry to not agree on the new pieces..but perfect takes time..your room is so nice we can do better...and still on a budget too! I promise:))

For kitchen..I need the table size and the measurements of just that area from kitchen counter to halfwall and from patio door to end of halfwall?

I will return the mirror wasn't so sure about it either that's why I didn't let my husband hang it yet.
You are right about the console table I had my doubts about it too yesterday wasn't sure that would fit the rest of the room. I will keep an eye out and try to find one that would be longer and go with the Tv console,I could always use the console in my entryway.

I have moved the rug from my living room in to the Kitchen, did not like the rug there with the furniture the rug is 7×10 it is long and wide enough for the chairs to stay on rug when you pull them out.

I think you can safely select a rust or gray drapery panel with bronze or wood poles.

Those brass sconces over the FP seem to be a mistake along with the gold frame on the canvas

I would select bronze shaded sconces to reduce any glare and a canvas to pull the colors of the room

Those sconces wont work with the outlet placement, you would have to move electical. Has to be more out and up less of a tail if you will.
