Just awful, how can anyone deliberately treat sentient beings this way.

The good news is--they have been saved!!!

The 80+ great danes are being held as evidence in the case ... I hope these poor dogs don't have to spend months, or maybe years, in shelters or boarding facilities while the case winds its way through the legal system.

It isn't going to be easy to find homes for 80+ very large dogs.

the dogs will most likely be placed in foster homes for the duration of the legal issues. once that's taken care of, they will be put up for adoption. you would be surprised, the dane community is HUGE and if these dogs can be placed around the country, there will be lots of people willing to take them. :)

From comments I have seen from Dane owners and breeders the Dane community/Dane Rescue are already lining up fosters, etc so they can be sure the dogs are healthy enough to be adopted successfully once they are available. There has been a HUGE outpouring of support for these dogs.

yup, dane owners are a whole 'nuther breed (pun intended)! LOL

there is a huge network of rescues, foster homes and dane owners who pull danes from shelters daily and put them either in rescue or foster homes. they are evaluated for temperament and placed accordingly. really a great group of people! i wish i could foster but with already having 3 danes and no physical fence, it isn't in the cards for me. i have, however, participated in many transports which is always fun!

I wont open the link either, I know with my yorkie she was taken by the ASPCA along with 12 others & 20 cats they were all held at the shelter for 4 months awaiting for the court case. Greed is why these poor excuses of humans do these horrific things to animals...

Actually in this case the person was not greedy she was mentally ill.

she may have been a little "off" in the head but she had 2 or 3 other people working for her. why did they not see what was happening and do something about it??? i think she was more of a hoarder than anything else. she purchased numerous dogs from overseas.
