Wall panelling color HELP

Hi I have placed this wall panelling in my sons room doubling as a headboard of sort. I am not sure if I will retain the natural color of the wood or stain it in the shades of grey or to black ?. The room will be painted in very light grey. .appreciate if anyone can make suggestions. Thank you

I rather like this mismatch of wood. If you are painting the walls light grey I think it will work. Try it first as it is fun and unusual and for your son's room it should be cool/

So your suggestion is to change some of these woods as shown in the photo rather than staining?Great idea never thought about it since the panels were reclaimed from our ancestral home .thank you very much ASV interiors , the photo looks great and helps a lot.
