Fleas?

I go into my sewing room this morning. At the ironing board I suddenly see a couple fleas (I assume) hopping around, then get bit in the leg. This is a pet-free house, and I vacuum in there daily. So where did the fleas come from?

A couple weeks ago I picked up a queen size quilt from the long-arm quilter I have used before. She does a great job, but doesn't appear to waste a lot of time on house and garden work. Not sure if she has a dog, but it's possible.

Could the fleas eggs or whatever have come back on my quilt? Has anyone ever had this happen? Fortunately we had bug bombs in our garage, which we set off and left the house.

I saw crawling bugs in my sewing room not long after we moved in, so I sprinkled boric acid powder around the perimeter. I have moth stuff in with my fabric. Never expected to see fleas in there. Anyone have any advice?
