Painting dilemma

last modified: 9 years ago

Just purchased this house & would like to paint entire home one color to keep cost down...possibly swiss mocha (or other slight off white). Do I leave faux stone columns & doorway the existing color or paint it out with everything else. Any other suggestions on color for an entire interior change besides swiss mocha? I also don't know what style this home is...

just out of curiosity what paint brand are you looking at, because there many different types of Swiss mocha depending on the manufacturer. A very popular color in the bay area is Swiss coffee from Kelly Moore. another color that I use frequently that is very appealing is white dove from Benjamin Moore. The mantle and the columns would go nicely with a darker rich color to compliment the lighter tone on the walls. Will be painting the trim as well? how about those beams going across the living room?

I haven't picked out a brand for paint yet. The beams are wood and show their grain so I do not wa t to paint them out. It's sorta a bleached type color. I was hoping to either leave the bed and trim their original color or paint them out so it's not noticeable. I'm not a huge fan of the trim and columns.
