Why the change.? The new sectional is a completely different style than the rest of your furniture.

Pictures of all 4 walls in the room would help. From this picture I don't think a sectional is the best option nor is the style complementary to your home's style

Thank you. I do realize that my dining room has antique furniture and my kitchen (which was updated within 5 years ago) has expresso cabinets. The reason I want this very streamline look for a sectional is for a couple of reasons. Because the room is small, anything bulky makes my space look smaller. Also, I am very limited to the placement of furniture. Flat screen has to go on only 1 wall option. LR opens to kitchen and dining room (no walls) so the wall with the 3 windows; I really would like the sofa to fit beneath the windows and not cover up the window sills. Please let me say that I am very open to suggestions. This sofa sectional I am looking at is 5,000. I am going to be doing some serious furniture shopping this weekend as I have sold my bulky leather sofa and love seat. Also, we have removed the 2 posts that are between the LR and DR. If you give me your email address. I could send you the diagram of the room. I have also began painting the walls a light grey color. We will also be changing the floors in the kitchen and living room only. I am leaving my expensive ceramic porcelain tile in DR which has grey in it as well.

jansgirl Thanks I did read that. However I was assuming that the damage was to the home and she was able to keep most of her existing furniture.

I would reconsider the sectional. It will seriously impede your traffic flow. You could instead do a smaller, more modern leather sofa and add two new chairs to keep the area open. I presume the t.v. is on the wall opposite the dining room opening. If you find a sofa that's not too deep, you can pull it forward a bit away from the windows. What is the height of the windowsill from the floor? This leather sofa from Macy's has great reviews, is only 37" deep and 34" high and is on sale for $889. That's a big difference from $5,000!
